Smackdown rolled through Birmingham, Alabama on Tuesday night, and these were the matches that were taped to air on tonight’s broadcast. As always, this is a spoiler free preview.
- Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. Seth Rollins in a non-title match.
- Divas Champion AJ Lee vs. Layla in a non-title match.
- Sheamus and The Uso Brothers vs. The Miz, Stardust, and Goldust in a six-man tag.
- Nikki Bella vs. Naomi.
- Dean Ambrose vs. Kane.
Smackdown airs tonight on SyFy at 7pm CT.
Smith’s Sentiment: I haven’t read the spoilers, but I see a couple of matches on this list that look decent. Hopefully Ziggler/Rollins gets a decent amount of time. I really enjoyed the Ziggler/Orton match on RAW (maybe the best free TV match this year), as well as Rollins/Swagger. At some point in the future, I’d like to see a lengthy feud between Ziggler and Rollins. AJ and Layla won’t be a good match, but I can’t complain about getting to see Layla and AJ is always fun. Couldn’t care less about the Nikki Bella/Naomi match; would rather watch even more replays of stuff that happened on RAW. I’ll take comfort in knowing it won’t last more than a couple of minutes. And finally, Ambrose/Kane could be fun but will likely result in a beat down (or attempted beat down) at the hands of the Authority.
